ALFRED ENDERBY
Social Media Video
We worked with Create NEL and The Culture House as part of a wider campaign celebrating the culture, heritage and creative identity of North East Lincolnshire. The initiative aimed to showcase the people, places and traditions that make the region unique through a series of engaging social media videos designed to reach new audiences and encourage greater appreciation of local heritage.
For this project, we focused on Alfred Enderby, one of the oldest traditional smokehouses remaining in Grimsby. Through cinematic visuals and carefully crafted storytelling, we explored the history of the family business, the craftsmanship behind traditional fish smoking, and the importance of preserving skills and knowledge that have shaped the town's identity for generations. The film was designed to highlight not only the business itself, but also its cultural significance within the community.
Created for use across social media platforms, the final video formed part of Create NEL's wider content campaign, helping to promote North East Lincolnshire's heritage in an accessible and engaging way. The project demonstrates how short-form documentary storytelling can bring local history to life, connect audiences with their communities and celebrate the people keeping traditional crafts alive for future generations.
